Job Description:

The Application Systems Analyst II, Clinic (IT department) is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, and support of Joslin ambulatory clinical and practice management custom in-house developed and vendor technology solutions and programs of service. S/He is also responsible for training and promoting technology adoption throughout the Joslin user community. Joslin maintains a reduced, onsite workforce through fall tbd 2021 to safeguard the health and safety of the workforce and those we serve due to COVID-19. Primarily remote work with onsite presence as required by job duties during COVID-19 reduced workforce protocol. Office environment with exposure to patient care areas; limited patient contact. Occasional travel to local satellite offices, vendor events, conferences, and training seminars. Must be able to provide adequate transportation between work locations. As projects and priorities dictate, must be available to work non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if/when necessary. Responsibilities: Contributing member of the Information Technology Team, and works in an ongoing capacity to further the usage and adoption of software and programs of service Demonstrates commitment to delivery of exemplary, high quality customer service Manages projects using standard project management tools and methodology Contributes to roadmap planning and execution for applications and related ---add-on--- software components, and their relevant upgrades, backups, and other system administrator activities Assumes responsibility for supporting, documenting, and/or extending functionality during and post implementation Makes recommendations for design and workflow improvements based on knowledge of software and Joslin clinic, practice, and research operations Works with user communities to develop and prioritize detailed requirements for approved application projects and enhancements, and communicates requirements to team members and/or vendor partners; communicates clearly and collaboratively regarding deliverables, barriers to success, and opportunities for design and workflow improvement Understands user requirements and business impacts, and translates them to functional requirements Leads or participates in feasibility studies, including testing effort estimation, for proposed projects and enhancements Assesses, analyzes, and documents current and new workflows and business processes, identifies impacts to system design decisions and operational processes, and helps drive process improvement Assists in identifying and recommending best practices for business analysis, training, and end user support functions, and generates ideas for possible enhancements Identifies and resolves issues, and facilitates appropriate escalation for timely resolution Updates applications as requested and prioritized by various departments and governance committees within the institution to provide minor enhancements and bug fixes Develops and executes test plans, and facilitates user acceptance testing; helps to establish consensus on success factors, including but not limited to reliability, ease-of-use, maintainability, and performance constraints Conducts or assists in training in classroom, lecture hall, one-on-one, and other applicable settings; creates and maintains appropriate training agendas, guides, job aides, and other documentation Collaborates with vendor, contractors, and other support personnel to administer system, and research and resolve vendor product issues Administers user accounts, permissions, and other activities related to on-boarding or maintaining user security profiles Ensures confidentiality, integrity, availability, reliability, security, and performance of applications, data, and hardware; assumes responsibility for applications operations, and accountability for any action taken on the application installation through configuration, security and user permissions, upgrades and backups Continually learns new programs, techniques and technologies, and applies this learning to assigned tasks Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor---s degree in Business, IT, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent experience 3-5 years ambulatory clinical and practice management system administration and end user support, preferably NextGen 3-5 years workflow design and end user application training EHR/PM certification/training preferred ITIL training or certification preferred Proficient in ambulatory clinical and practice management workflows, end user support, training, and product/project management Requires minimal direction and guidance from supervising manager/director Contributes to creating and maintaining positive business relationships Demonstrates sound critical thinking , problem-solving, and consensus-building skills Presents a strong professional persona with exemplary presentation and written/oral communication skills Well organized, self-motivated, and follows through Effectively manages time and prioritizes work Team player with the desire to deliver results on time Must be flexible, versatile, adaptable Demonstrates a positive can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and accountability to team members Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio) Joslin is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minority/Female/Individuals with Disabilities/Protected Veterans.
