Environmental, Health Safety Specialist Position
Summary:Catalent is a global, high-growth, public company and a

Boston-area facility is Catalent's global Center of Excellence for
spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule
manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray
drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule
filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include
best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the
largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.Catalent
Pharma Solutions is Chelsea, MA is hiring an Environmental, Health
& Safety Specialist who plans, establishes, implements, and
maintains a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental
programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for
employees at multiple locations and all departments. This
individual assures that Catalent complies with applicable federal,
state and local health, safety and environmental laws, regulations
and standards.Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture

full-time role position: Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PMThe
Role
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State EHS regulations while
following Catalent's guidelines to ensure the safety of all onsite
personnel and to minimize impact to the environment
- Assist with oversight of the site Emergency Response team
including Spill Response and First Aid responders.
- Assist with the EHS Incident Investigation program including
conducting root cause analysis and identifying corrective
actions.
- Assist with development and delivery of EHS training to site
personnel based on regulatory and Catalent requirements.
- Support the Industrial Hygiene program including conducting
assessments, making recommendations on engineering controls and
PPE, conducting audits, and providing employee training as
needed.
- Contribute to management of various environmental programs
onsite including waste management, wastewater management, and air
compliance. Evaluate environmental problems to develop methods and
equipment to maintain regulatory compliance
- Contribute to the Ergonomics Program, educate the employees,
and conduct workstation and equipment assessments
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments that apply
to task, departments, and the overall site that includes but is not
limited to chemical use, machine safeguarding, ergonomics,
walking-working surfaces, material handling, etc., to reduce the
risk and prevent work related injuries and illnesses.
- Maintenance of safety and security equipment and supplies
including but not limited to weekly/monthly inspections,
calibrations, and certifications where applicable
- Conduct EHS audits, inspections, hazard assessments and
investigations of violations as required and make recommendations
based off findings
- All other duties as assigned;The Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial
Hygiene, or other related field with 3+ years of relevant work
experience.--
- Experience in a pharmaceutical setting preferred. Mixed use
(office, manufacturing, and lab) environment required.----
- Certified Safety Professional certification preferred.
- OSHA 40 and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Waste Water Treatment Grade 2I preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of key regulatory requirements (e.g.
DOT, Mass DEP, Hazmat/RCRA, NFPA and OSHA rules and regulations)
and their application to a laboratory and manufacturing
environment, particularly in the following key areas: Environment
(ex. waste management, lab safety, energy efficiency, and
sustainability) & EHS management systems and all other standards,
concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety and
environmental fields.
- Ability to lead and direct teams and/or committees and manage
both day-to-day operations as well as project work in a fast-paced
environment.
- Ability to develop and provide training for a variety of
audiences.
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and
