Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 2 years Description: The unit has a total of 5 labor delivery rooms, 8 mom/baby rooms, and 5 pediatrics/gyn rooms. There are 44 staff members working in this unit. Day shift staff includes 3 labor nurses, 2 pediatric/level 2 nurses, a manager, and a director. Night shift staff includes 3 labor nurses, 2 pediatric/level 2 nurses, and a unit coordinator. Patient ratios follow AWHONN staffing guidelines. The equipment used includes GE EMR, CPN, and Meditech. Typical procedures performed include vaginal births, cesarean births, and mom-baby couplet care. The best personality fit for this position is a team player. Staff may float to the entire facility as a sitter or helper. Scrubs will be provided by the unit. Weekend and on-call duties are shared among all regular staff, with every other weekend required.
