Description MASSHEALTH Operations (MHO) is seeking an experienced
customer service professional to leada team of supervisors (BERS D)
and eligibility workers (BERS C) including but not limited to,
providing leadership, training and mentoring, monitoring and
distributing work, conducting periodic evaluation and providing
feedback to staff and providing back-up to the Assistant Director
when appropriate. Incumbents of these positions may be required to
act as liaisons to other units and agencies. - Duties and
Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all
inclusive): Carrying out and attaining the mission and the goals of
MassHealth. Manage a team of Benefits Eligibility and Referral
Social Workers determining eligibility for all MassHealth programs
and providing high quality customer service to MassHealth members
and providers. Create a positive work environment, maintain
transparent communication, and hold regular department and
one-on-one meetings to foster communication, share information and
help develop solutions to a broad variety of eligibility and
customer service challenges. Maintain a current and detailed
knowledge of MassHealth programs and eligibility policies; provide
leadership, support, and direction to ensure teams consistently
apply those policies. Monitor staff performance and conduct
periodic performance evaluations. Develop work development or
remedial plans when necessary to improve staff work performance.
Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for
productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal
accomplishment. Initiate morale building activities for the team.
Participate in disciplinary matters as necessary. Create and
present staff training programs, foster participation, and staff
development. Develop strategies for the department to enhance
business processes and improve productivity. Respond to inquiries
from the office of Medicaid and other sources. Ensure that BERS
implement all voter registration policies and procedures accurately
and consistently for all address changes, requests for an
application or assistance completing an application and requests
for a renewal/review form or assistance completing a renewal/review
form. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as
required by the Director and Assistant Director. Preferred
Qualifications: Strong supervisory, coaching, and managerial skills
and experience planning, organizing, prioritizing, and evaluating
the work of subordinates. Active listening, negotiation, teaching
and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills.
A strong service orientation. A demonstrated openness to change.
Ability to understand/appreciate confidential matters. Strong
computer and data analysis skills. Ability to analyze complex
financial instruments and legal documents such as taxes, insurance
information and medical records. Knowledge of the various

have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time,
professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience
in business administration, business management, public
administration, financial management, or professional experience in
a particular specialty (i.e. scientific, professional, or
technical), and (B) of which three years must have been in a
supervisory or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent
combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor
vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.
Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in
business administration, business management, public
administration, financial management, or degree related directly to
the specialty may be substituted for one year of the required (A)
experience. II. A Graduate or higher degree with a major in
business administration, business management, public
administration, financial management, or degree related directly to
the specialty may be substituted for two years of the required (A)
