customers worldwide. As a principal software engineer at Liberty
Mutual, you'll consult on highly complex projects and solve

As Lead Engineer for the Public Markets, Derivatives and Research
Product Portfolio, you will: Lead a team of software engineers in
an agile squad to design and build technology solutions for LMI's
Public Markets and Derivatives product suite.
Partner with key business and tech stakeholders to identify and
deliver data and analytics automated solutions that meet business
needs and align with technology guardrails & strategy
Act as hands-on advisor and technical lead and collaborate with
scrum masters, product owners, and engineering team to iteratively
create technical solutions that meet business and technical
requirements
Research recommend, design, and develop systems and application
architecture with a specific focus on software quality, security,
and compliance
Deliver artifacts, technical alternatives and architectural designs
that meet business requirements
Collaborate with development teams and architects building
Innovative, API first, cloud native solutions using AWS platform,
Snowflake, Informatica/Glue, Power-BI/Dash, Python, Rest API,
Django, React, etc
Continually enhance full delivery pipeline through automation,
expanded yet increasingly efficient test coverage, ultimately
optimizing time-to-market and quality
Mentor engineers/individual contributors in the team; conduct
design and code reviews and champion engineering excellence/best
practices
Collaborate with architecture team and across LMI Tech/Corporate
tech team
Drive innovation in the team through continuous learning and
building Prototyping complex, cross platform business solution
Note: This role has a hybrid work arrangement (2 days per week in
Boston). Ideal candidate will have Investments domain knowledge
(Fixed Income/Derivatives a plus)
Qualifications
Experience
Eight or more years of software engineering experience
Strong background in business operations and strategies, including
global technology and financial services trends
Hands-on involvement with layered systems architectures, designs
and shared software concepts
Familiarity with functional and system integration testing
Experience working in an agile environment
Skills
Excellent negotiation, facilitation and consensus-building
capabilities
Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving
circumstances
Proficiency in multiple object-oriented programming languages and
tools
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Aptitude for working in teams
Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies,
architectural concepts and principles
A deep understanding of layered solutions and designs
Awareness of policies regarding security and privacy
Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental
delivery
Education
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business
discipline, or equivalent experience
