Job Description
Privacy Officer - US Business Unit Takeda Pharmaceutical Lexington,
MA About the role: Join Takeda as a Privacy Officer where you will
- Create procedures, communications and training framework so
Takeda's U.S. Business Unit can manage the risk of handling of
personal data and ensure employees are following corporate policies
& procedures. You will report to the US Privacy Officer, US
Business Unit.
How you will contribute: Guidance & Contracting : Serve as primary
contact for local needs in relation to records, drafting of privacy
notices, creating SOPs, contract drafting and general privacy
guidance and support. Provide subject matter expertise across USBU
business functions, including in relation to internal data
acquisition, data management and commercial reporting teams to
ensure data management processes comply with Takeda privacy
policies and applicable regulations. Compliance & Monitoring :
Development and deployment of guidance, metrics, and tools to
support and monitor compliance with privacy regulations and
internal standards. Develop processes and procedures that enable
privacy by design across data acquisition, data
management/reporting, and data access. Risk Assessment : Evaluate
and advise the local business on privacy risks associated with new
technologies, programs, and systems and conduct privacy impact
assessments (US Local initiatives). Demonstrated understanding of
and ability to identify and escalate privacy related risks to
appropriate stakeholders. Subject Requests : Ensure timely response
to data subject requests and maintain compliance documentation.
Training: Support distribution and delivery of privacy training
programs at local level. Vendor Due Diligence : Conduct privacy
related vendor due diligent assessments for local vendors.
Regulatory Changes: Support analysis of business impact and
implementation of new privacy rules and regulations affecting the
USBU. Privacy Incidents : Support investigation of privacy
incidents, reporting obligations and remediation efforts.
Engagement with local authorities: Support response to
requests/inspections from regulators in connection with data
privacy matters. Represent the USBU in internal and external
networks, committees, and groups to support the business, for
benchmarking purposes and to maintain and enhance required subject
matter expertise. Assess privacy risks and comply with privacy
legislation. Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Takeda USBU
and OBU Member of Takeda's Privacy Network and closely collaborate
with Takeda's Privacy Office to support the company Privacy
Program
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelors' Degree required.
Preference for an advanced degree in Law, Technical, Business, or
related privacy area Minimum 5+ years' experience in Privacy with
demonstrated professional SME privacy expertise applied in
programs, training, and tools. Experience in the
pharmaceutical/health sector or digital technologies industry a
plus. Privacy Certification(s) like IAPP-CIPM/CIPT/CIPE or
equivalent are a plus Background in project and process
development, implementation, and management. Team player with
strong collaborative skills. Strong ethical behavior, with the
ability to remain impartial and report all non-compliance. Role
model for Takeda values. Experience with influencing without
authority, acting as lead business partner working with diverse
stakeholders in a cross-functional capacity and achieving results
in international highly matrixed organization Leadership
capabilities, including ability to interact with and advise senior
business leaders & influence business stakeholders across the
organization; ability to interact with regulatory authorities and
experts as appropriate. Ability to advise on risk-based decisions
involving reputational and financial risk and to act with a high
degree of integrity and with autonomy. Mindset of curiosity and
interest in creative ways of doing things.
