Comparative Medicine, you will be empowered to perform advanced
dosing, sample collection, and histology preparation with
efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail and a typical day
will include:POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- Independently plans and performs complex projects supporting
multiple therapeutic areas of the Company including Oncology,
Neuroscience, Rare Diseases, Vaccines, and GI. Performs advanced
dosing, sample collection, and histology preparation with
efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Oversees daily operation of internal in vivo studies.
- Responsible for integrity of data. - Possesses level of
expertise critical to group success. Requires minimal to no
supervision.
- Designated technical trainer for all in vivo users as
Takeda-Boston.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Demonstrates proficiency in advanced technical skills required
including routes of administration and sample collection in the
laboratory rodents.
- Selects appropriate experiments/techniques based on
understanding of discipline. - Guides and understands implications
of lab operations decisions.
- Inputs study design into online data collection systems,
reviews and analyses data collection forms, and communicates study
related findings to Technical Services Management and
Scientists.
- Supervises daily operations of internal in vivo studies.
- Creation and maintenance of data forms and inventories. -
Performs complex calculations. -
- Utilizes expertise to share with internal and external
audiences. - Provides technical leadership related to experiment
choice and plan. - Effectively coaches others in problem solving
and troubleshooting.
- Exercises judgment to evaluate a variety of technical factors
and obtain optimum solutions. -
- Reports animal well being concerns to Comparative Medicine
veterinary staff and Technical Services Management. - -Reports all
safety issues to the EH&S Department.
- Takes responsibility to maintain knowledge on industry and
technical advances. -
- Working knowledge of all policies and procedures for animal
users. Demonstrates expertise in operation of laboratory support
equipment. -
- Develops and edits Standard Operating Procedures and Work
Practices.
- Assists in capital equipment identification, procurement and
refresh.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: -
- Requires A.S. /B.S. or equivalent in a scientific field with 5+
years of previous laboratory animal experience.
- Demonstrates proficiency in advanced technical skills including
routes of administration and sample collection in laboratory
rodents.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- AALAS certification at the LATG level required within six
months of hire.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: -
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must be willing to work off-hours, holidays and
weekends.VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective November 1, 2021, absent an approved religious or
medical reason, all US office-based and lab-based Takeda employees
who work fully on-site or in a hybrid model (as determined by
Takeda) must be fully vaccinated to work at a Takeda site or to
engage with Takeda colleagues or anyone else on behalf of Takeda.

reason, US field-based employees, employees must be fully
vaccinated in order to continue in their current roles. - US
employees who work at a Takeda manufacturing facility, and those
who work at a BioLife center or BioLife lab, may be subject to
