Job Description:
Description The Chelsea Soldiers' Home is seeking an engaging,
collaborative, and experienced clinical educator. This individual
will plan, develop and coordinate education programs for all staff
within the facility. Additionally, the incumbent will plan and
conduct in-service trainings for new and existing employees, as
well as educational programs and competency measures for clinical
staff.Note: This is a 24 hour/7 days a week facility. The Chelsea
Soldier's Home may require this individual to be present during
nontraditional hours when circumstances dictate the operational
needDuties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary
and not all inclusive):Plans, develops, coordinates, delivers and
provides both clinical and non-clinical education for all new
employees to acquaint them with Home's policies, procedures and the
overall operation and inter-relationships of servicesPlans,
develops and provides orientation for all new RNs, LPNs and CNAs to
orient them to nursing policies, procedures, standards,
practices/techniques, regulatory requirements, etc.Assists
department heads/supervisors in developing a department/unit
specific orientation for all new employeesConducts ongoing nursing
education; e.g., new procedures, new products, changes in policy,
TJC CMS and DPH standards, and CEU programsProvides/arranges
in-services, workshops and educational programs for nursing staff
that maintains and fosters innovation in veteran resident
careConfers with unit supervisors, department heads and
administration to delineate the need for employee training and
education and to design programs aimed at increasing job efficiency
and improving moraleDevelops training manuals, examinations, visual
aids, references and other training materialsParticipates and
chairs nursing committees and meetings related to nursing education
as appropriateRepresents the Home at vocational, professional and
educational meetings, seminars and workshops, as requiredDevelops
and maintains a reporting mechanism to apprise administration about
training needs, outcomes and training statistics at least
quarterlyMentors the nursing staffParticipates in a schedule on
weekends or other shifts as required for educational
trainingsRequired Qualifications:Knowledge of training methods and
techniquesAbility to conduct and plan training and instruction in
nursing, as well as working on a team settingAbility to prepare and
use charts, graphs and tables and maintain accurate
recordsPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree or relevant level
of clinical expertise in a health-related field preferredKnowledge
of the principles and practices of nursingExperience working in a
long-term care healthcare settingAbility to analyze and determine
the applicability of medical data, to draw conclusions and make
appropriate recommendationsAbility to explain the policies,
procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing the
HomeAbility to understand and apply the laws, rules and regulations
governing the HomeProficient in Microsoft Office to include Word,
Excel and OutlookLicense and/or Certification RequirementsCurrent
Massachusetts Registered Nurse license & Current CPR

must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent
part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized
hospital, clinic, or medical facility and (B) of which at least two
years must have been in a supervisory, administrative, or
managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the
required experience and the substitutions below.Substitutions:I. A
Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for a
maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.* No
substitutions will be allowed for the required (B)
experience.*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the
basis of the proportion of the requirements actually
