Job Description:
*The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security
(EOTSS)* is the state's lead office for information technology. We
provide enterprise level information technology services including
network management and security; computer operations; application
hosting; desktop provisioning and management; and modern and
responsive digital services to 40,000 internal stakeholders plus
the residents, business owners and visitors to the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. *EOTSS*is seeking to hire to a highly motivated
individual to join the*EOTSS Cloud Team*as*Cloud DevOps
Engineer.*As a*Cloud DevOps Engineer*, you will provide exceptional
technical design and thought leadership to EOTSS, Executive Office
agencies, and independent agencies that EOTSS supports. You will be
a key contributor to the EOTSS Cloud Team to evaluate, design,
implement and update automated solutions across multiple Cloud
platforms to support and expand the EOTSS standard operating
environment (SOE). The incumbent of this role should be an
automate-first thinker with the ability to see the big picture and
design solutions for repetitive tasks and integrate them into the
broader environment. Problem solving should be at their very core.
The primary work location for this role will be at *200 Arlington
Street Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150.*The work schedule for this
position is *Monday thru Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM*.*This position
is expected to perform after hours and on-call when needed*.This
position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to
work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as
needed. *Responsibilities:* * Build, maintain, improve, and
document Cloud hosting standard operating environment (SOE) through
automation tools and processes. SOE components such as snapshot
based backups, logging, patch management, availability monitoring,
tagging compliance, and software compliance. * Provision,
configure, document, and maintain infrastructure in a multi-cloud
environment. * Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the
organization to resolve complex technical issues and as a subject
matter expert and evangelist for Cloud automation. * Troubleshoot
complex technical problems across a wide array of services and
functional areas. * Ensure Cloud environments meet security and
compliance standards set forth by the Enterprise Security Office
and the office of the CTO. * Participate in "demo-day" sessions to
demonstrate and review Cloud automation tools and capabilities with
internal stakeholders. * Lead knowledge transfer sessions on Cloud
DevOps solutions. *Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* *
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience building and
maintaining Cloud Infrastructure hosted on AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware,
and Snowflake * Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of hands-on
experience with the AWS platform is highly preferred. * Experience
building and working within an automated pipeline using tools such
as GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Commit, Azure DevOps, etc. *
In-depth knowledge of configuring services such as AWS EC2, RDS,
S3, AWS Config, SSM, IAM, KMS, RT53, and others). * Proficient in
at least one scripting language such as Python or PowerShell
(Python preferred). * Hands-on experience deploying and managing
infrastructure with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation,
Systems Manager. * Foundational knowledge of enterprise tools and
services such as Active Directory, DNS, network routing, and
firewalls, etc. * Systems Administration experience with one or
both Windows Server and Linux (Amazon Linux and Redhat). * Possess
a strong bias for action and ownership; be decisive, take action,
and make decisions quickly. *Education and Certifications:* *
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Systems,
Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work
experience. * Relevant Cloud certifications are desired, but not
required. First consideration will be given to those applicants
