possible.Position summary: As a member of our dietary team, the
Registered Dietitian will be responsible for overseeing the
nutritional care of our residents. Working with the healthcare
team, you will ensure that residents receive balanced, appropriate
and individualized meal plans that support their health and
well-being.Qualifications:BS degree with a concentration in Food
and NutritionMust have knowledge of therapeutic diets and a
clinical nutrition backgroundMust be registered with The American
Dietetic Association as well as maintain CEU's ongoing basisMust be
licensed by The Commonwealth of MassachusettsMust possess the
ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members,
visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general publicMust
have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as
be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level
they are currently functioningMust have good communication skills
and be a team playerMust maintain the care and use of supplies,
equipment, the appearance of work areas and perform regular
inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and
proper performance of assigned dutiesMust function independently,
have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work
effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agenciesMust
be able to move intermittently throughout the workdayAbility to
stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periodsMust be able
to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a
minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or
carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feetDuties and
Responsibilities:Interpret the department's policies and procedures
to employees, residents, visitors, Government agencies, etc., as
necessaryParticipate in facility surveys (inspections) made by
authorized government agenciesParticipate in orientation and
counseling the diet techAttend dining room committee meetings and
resident care plan meetingsRespond positively and timely to all
resident, family and co-workers requestsDuties performed by the
Registered Dietitian shall include nutrition assessments, annual
and quarterly reviews, interim assessments for residents with
compromised nutritional status, participation in care plan
development, meal observation, and resident/family, visitation.The
Registered Dietitian shall provide nutrition education to resident,
family, and/or Chelsea Jewish Lifecare staff as needed.The
Dietitian shall also assess compliance with the Mass Department of
Public Health, OBRAH, and JACHO regulations, review/approve
resident menus, and conduct in-service Education for the Chelsea
Jewish Lifecare staffUpon notification from the Nursing staff of
weight change, the Registered Dietitian shall assess weight
change/significant weight change and implement appropriate
interventions.The Registered Dietitian shall be an active member of
the Interdisciplinary Team and participate in pertinent meeting as
needed.The Registered Dietitian shall serve as a resource to the
Foodservice Department and assist In the department operations as
needed.Follow established infection control and universal
precautions when performing daily tasksOthers as deemed necessary
and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Administrator
